Sterling Silver Stud Earrings with oxidised details from the 'Marked Men' Collection.
These designs are our contemporary interpretation of the ancient Egyptian myth that the Scarab created day and night, making it a symbol of eternal hope and rebirth. It was believed the beetle represented the god Khepri, who pushed the sun through the morning sky, just as the beetle pushes its ball of dung. Each day the sun disappeared, always to rise again and be reborn the following day...thus the scarab beetle became a symbol of hope and renewal.
The two designs symbolise the abstracted hieroglyph of the scarab on one, and the eternally rising sun on the other.
Mix and match these designs: The studs are designed to be worn with a different design on each ear, but you can also purchase them as single studs, or as pairs with the same design on each ear.
